Cineplex Odeon Universal City (Los Angeles, California USA - 1986)
This mammoth, eighteen screen multiplex seats a total of almost 6,000 people in luxurious surroundings incorporating a two storey greenhouse café. The soaring, sky-lit lobby, with its roof of cascading glass vaults, features two magnificent works of art by the late Canadian artist, Harold Town. The two largest 750 seat cinemas feature balconies. Parking for 4,000 cars is available in an adjacent garage structure. At the time of opening in 1986, the theatre was the largest multiplex in the world.
